Matchday Mascots at Promotion Party?

On Saturday The U12 Shields will be visiting Kettering Town, to be Matchday Mascots on what will hopefully be a historic day for the Northamptonshire club. A win against Alvechurch will confirm "The Poppies" as Southern League Premier Division Central Champions, and see them return to the National League North, after an absence of 11 seasons.

The Shields will get to see behind the scenes at Latimer Park, with a visit to the Poppies TV studio, followed by meeting the players and management in the home changing room. They will then have a 20 minute training session in front of arriving fans, before walking out of the tunnel with both teams and taking part in the "Friendship Handshake".

At half time they will then take part in a penalty competition, when they will have five minutes to score as many penalties as possible against Club mascot "Rocky the Lion" and then after the game will be able to get autographs from the players and hopefully join in the celebrations.

The Poppies are hopeful of a bumper crowd of around 1,500 and it promises to be an exciting day for all involved!
